Moss Creek: A Practical Look at This Concord Neighborhood

Let’s Find Home: Moss Creek, Concord NC

Moss Creek is a well established community in Concord with a lot of practical information worth having in one place, the kind of detail that matters when you are actually deciding whether a neighborhood fits your life.

Where It Sits

Moss Creek sits on the west side of Concord, in the 28027 zip code, technically outside Charlotte’s city limits but only a short drive from Uptown. It sits in Cabarrus County, a few miles from communities like Highland Creek, which straddles the Mecklenburg and Cabarrus county line nearby.

Something worth knowing

Even though Moss Creek is close enough to Charlotte to feel like part of the metro in daily life, it falls under Concord’s local government and Cabarrus County’s tax rate rather than Mecklenburg’s, which is worth understanding regardless of which side of that line you end up choosing.

School Assignment

Moss Creek is zoned for Odell Elementary, Harris Road Middle, and Cox Mill High School, all part of Cabarrus County Schools. As always, I recommend verifying school assignment directly for any specific address before making a decision based on it, since boundaries can shift over time.

Amenities

Moss Creek has a more substantial amenity package than a lot of neighborhoods its size. Residents have access to an Olympic sized pool, a separate lap pool, and a splash or wading pool for younger kids, along with a playground, tennis courts, and basketball courts.

Home Styles and Pricing

The neighborhood includes a genuine mix of home sizes, generally ranging from smaller, more compact layouts up to larger homes over 4,000 square feet, built across different phases rather than all at once. Because Moss Creek is a more established community rather than brand new construction, homes here have generally traded at more accessible prices than some of the newer developments built more recently nearby, though pricing shifts with the market, and current numbers are always worth checking directly rather than relying on anything written in a blog post.
