Things I never Judge Buyers For
Let’s Find Home: What I’ve Learned Not to Judge
Buying a home is one of the biggest decisions most people will ever make, and somewhere along the way, a lot of buyers start feeling like they need to apologize for how human that makes them. They don’t. Here is a short list of things I have seen again and again, and never once judged anyone for.

Being Nervous
This is one of the largest financial and emotional decisions of your life. Nervous is not a red flag. It is a sign you are taking it seriously.
Changing Your Mind
New information should change a decision. Learning something new during a showing, an inspection, or a quiet drive back home and realizing a home is not the right fit is not flaky. It is good judgment doing exactly what it is supposed to do.
Asking a Lot of Questions
Contracts, due diligence, closing costs, none of it is intuitive the first time, or even the third time. A question you do not ask now becomes a regret you carry into the home. Ask everything. Ask it twice if you need to.
Bringing Other People Into the Decision
A parent on speakerphone. A sibling walking through photos with you. A partner who is not in the room but is very much part of the decision. Buying a home is rarely a purely individual choice, even when only one name goes on the contract, and I never expect it to be.
Having a Long List of Non-Negotiables
A buyer who knows exactly what they need is not a harder buyer to help. Usually, it is the opposite. Specificity is a gift. It means we are not wasting each other’s time guessing.
Walking Away
Sometimes the right decision is to stop. A wrong home is expensive in ways that go far beyond money, and the right one is always worth waiting for.
Crying at Closing
This one happens more than people expect, and it is almost never actually about the house. It is about everything that led to this moment, and I have learned to just hand over a tissue and let it be exactly what it is.
